Design Trends for 2024 - Ronas IT

Check out this awesome website presenting Design Trends for 2024.

As you scroll down the site, you’ll see some really interesting animations presented in a parallax format (that’s when content both moves and doesn’t move as you scroll, usually it’s the background that moves or changes while the text stays static on the screen.)

They’re showcasing Typography, AI-Generated Art, Minimalism & Brutalism, Surrealism in 3D, and Holographic elements.

Personally, I am pretty staunchly against the use of AI-Generated Art for more than just research and exploration. I do not believe that artificial intelligence technology should be used to create any form of art, rather it should be utilized to perform functions and jobs that make life easier for humans, opening up our time to create art.

When it comes to Typography, however, I have been a huge fan and nerd of the artform my whole life. I am very much looking forward to seeing more. typography-focused branding and creative assets this year.

Interestingly, the idea of Holographic imagery trending this year seems to be more than a random trend for creatives, but could actually be attributed to the ongoing multi-year trend of nostalgia. Millennials especially are a very nostalgic generation, and holographic art of all forms and mediums was huge in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Another interesting trend presented in this list is “Surrealism in 3D,” which can be a little controversial for artists and designers alike. I think it’s a really cool opportunity to explore abstract concepts and new ways of interacting with content. I’m excited to see where it can go.
